I have not experienced this. OLEDs have near instant response time so ghosting or trailing is rare. However quality of sports on any 4k tv may not be as spectacular as you imagine because in the US ABC CBS FOX and ESPN broadcast HD in 720p or 1080i. To my knowledge none broadcast in 4k or HDR. The tv upscales it but not perfectly which might cause some image artifacts. I have had several LG OLEDS and their picture quality is always excellent when showing 4k content but their ability to upscale 720p and 1080 has always disappointed me. Most 4K bluray players upscale dvd and bluray to 4k before it sends it to the tv so it always looks good. (Blurays @ 1080 better than dvd @ 720) As for live tv and sports your cable box and the way you send the signal to the tv can have a major effect on your picture quality. I have found that sending the cable signal through a unit that has a better video processor for upscaling then the tv greatly improves picture quality for live tv. You can send the signal through an AV receiver that upscales or a 4k bluray player that has an hdmi in port. An Xbox one will even do the job. Some cable boxes even have the option to upscale. Check the resolution settings on your box. I have Fios and my box has the 4k resolution setting. I have the box connected to an Oppo 203 4k disc player which has an HDMI in port. The Oppo is connected to the tv. The live tv picture is so good you would think is was from a 4k source. I would recommend this or a similar setup with any 4k tv, OLED or LED.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can confirm this is an issue with LG’s C7 OLED. My friend has the 65” version and the football will disappear when it’s in flight. It’s a gorgeous tv, for sure, but the disappearing ball issue is super distracting.
