QuestionOne of the major problems I've seen posted about the LG CX is it's aggressive ABL, much more noticeable than C9. Was wondering just how bad is it? Does it happen fairly often and is there a way to turn it off?

- Answer The Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) in the LG CX 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55CXPUA significantly dims the screen when large areas get bright, and there's quite a bit of variation when displaying different content, and it gets the least bright with large areas. The Peak Brightness setting in the TV changes the way the ABL performs. The Peak Brightness setting can be turned off. Turning this setting to 'High', makes most scenes brighter, but large areas are less bright...^IFV

QuestionFor the LG 55 CX: Does the remote use infer red or radio to communicate with the TV. Where on the TV is the receiving spot for remote signal? ie bottom frame, left ot right corner? How far in from the corner? Where is on/off light? Same spot?

- Answer The TV also has an infrared communication receiver, so you can use your Harmony universal infrared remote just fine.

QuestionHas anyone else had problems with this TV turning off at random times? For the last year, this problem has gotten progressively worse. We had a tech come out and were told it was due to having an older generation Apple TV, we upgraded it, and it is worse.

- Answer Unfortunately, I experienced it as well. I ended up going back to Samsung and they have made great changes. LG has this on/off problem all across the board which I found when I went looking for help with this problem and nothing I did stopped it. I have replaced 1 board but still didn't get it so unless I replace the other board, I won't know if it is fixable or not but it should never have happened yet it did and it has happened to many with just a look around the internet you will find out that LG has a huge problem with this on/off issue and it doesn't look like they are fixing it. I wouldn't recommend LG until they come out with a fix for this issue and I don't see that happening.

- Answer I own both. Go with the CX it's just like the C1 but cheaper. I'd also recommend a sound bar as tv speakers are just not loud enough and clear.
