You must pull the range out from the wall. The vent is affixed to the range by 4-6 screws. Remove all of them and you can remove the vent. It looks to me as if this thing was designed to be removable and someone came along and said, out of an abundance of caution, that it needed to be fixed in place, notwithstanding that it'd be a crumb-trap that ants would cherish. You and modify it to make it removable as needed. Here's how: Once vent is removed, you will see a piece of metal that goes from one side of the range to the other (it's about 1" wide, 30" long), it helps anchor the vent. It's attached in the middle by just one screw. Take it off, save it if you think you'll ever need to "permanently" fix the vent to the range. Put 2-4 of the smaller screws back into the rear of the vent -- easier to store them there than anywhere else. That'll leave you with two screws designed to hold the corners of the vent to the range. You can't just put them back in the holes, they'll keep the vent from fully seating. So --if you think you'll ever need them again, save 'em. Or snip off the ends of the circumferential eyelets on the vent into which they fit... so the vent can slide past them when they are partially screwed into the range housing. Presto, the whole thing snaps in and out, no problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve been trying to figure this out myself. Very poor design
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The owner's manual does not have any specific instructions about cleaning the vent trim on the LG 6.3 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Slide-In Electric Range with ProBake Convection® and EasyClean® - Stainless Steel, Model # LSE4613ST but does caution to wear gloves when cleaning the range to avoid burns or other injury because the areas near the vent may become hot during operation and the edges for. the vent and vent trim are sharp. Unfortunately, there are no instructions for how to get in the vent trim to clean inside it...^IFV
