The stove comes with an optional rear filler which is used to fill the gap between the rear of stove and the wall. You unscrew the filler and turn it around so it fills the gap. I had same issue with the plug but when I reversed the filler it fills the gap and looks like a vent trim. In the manual look at page 20 (Optional rear Filler). Pages 63 and 64 refer to it as a vent trim but its same piece.
