QuestionI don't need a freezer at all. Can you set the freezer part to the same temp as the rest of the unit to be used solely as a refrigerator?

- Answer Hello and sorry for responding a little late to this but yes my friend you can turn off the freezer and it acts as a normal refrigerator! I've turned off the freezer part of the refrigerator and it acts like the rest of the unit and the the food stays fresh perfectly. There was another Frigid I had my eyes on but it didn't have the freezer option. I figured I'd buy this one just in case because while it has a freezer you can it off and use it as a normal fridge! But having it just case is nice both ways!

QuestionIs it auto defrosting in freezer part? I'm worrying about frost accumulation causing regular defrost by hand.

- Answer No, the unit is not frost free. It is necessary to regularly defrost your refrigerator in order to ensure efficient operation. The frost on the surface of the evaporator should not exceed 1/4 inches (6 mm) before defrosting. ^Daphane

QuestionNew refrigerator delivered on Tuesday and setting on Colder with not much success of items being cold. Moved to coldest yesterday and still not cold. Freezer compartment is same temperature as fridge. Any suggestions? Fridge is operating.

QuestionIn reading the spec/description of item, it states shelves "fixed" When I look at the pictures of the inside of unit, it looks like there are extra positions in the unit for shelf locations,so can the shelves be relocated or removed entirely.

QuestionIs there a fan to cool the refrigerator section, or does the back wall have cooling coils behind it and the cooling is passive? We have a small refrigerator this size, but no fan, and ice builds up on the back wall because the cooling coils are behind it.

QuestionHow do you properly defrost?

- Answer For model LRONC0705V the defrost process has a defrost button on the temperature knob. It is necessary to regularly defrost your refrigerator in order to ensure efficient operation. The frost on the surface of the evaporator should not exceed 1/4 inches (6 mm) before defrosting. To defrost, press the defrost button (blue button). Remove food from around the evaporator before starting the defrosting operation. Once defrosting is complete, the defrost button will return to its normal position automatically. If the frost on the surface of the evaporator exceeds 1/4 inch (6 mm), check and empty the drip tray after defrosting. Open with a screwdriver. Remove and empty the drip tray, dry it off and reassemble it. ^Daphane

- Answer Hey there. LG's Direct Cooling System helps achieve consistent temperature control to maintain optimal freshness. We suggest that you look at your owner's manual and go to page 11, it will show you how to adjust the coldest to warmest temperature. These models do not have a precise temperature control so they just have coldest and warmest, but that will be comparable to the temperature range of 7*F to 5*F (-23*C to -15*C) for the freezer compartment and 3*F to 43*F (1*C to 7*C) for the refrigerator compartment on LG refrigerators that have precise temperature controls. ~Anthony

QuestionThe specs state 20 5/8W "door closed". What affect does opening the door have on the stated width?

- Answer What they mean is that if you measure the width with the door closed, you get the refrigerator's width, but if you open the door, you get the width needed to open the door and to access the refrigerator. The difference is only important if you plan to put the refrigerator in a "nook," meaning you would have to leave enough space for the door to open.
