OLED stands for ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DIODE. The technology behind this claims that each diode puts out its own light individually as opposed to LED which is either backlit or side lit in sections. Being that the technology is so different comparing the two is really not an option. I will say the picture is incredible and this technology has taken viewing to yet another level. I hope this helps
