A:Answer No difference if you plan to use a sound bar or stereo for sound and the TV ends up at eye level and you don't have to look up. Some people hang it above the fire place which is way too high for best viewing. Having to look up all the time also induces neck and should strain. If you are going to use the TV's own speakers, you must install the base as the speakers are down firing and required the bases to reflect the sound. The base extends beyond the back hump of the TV a bit. So once installed, you may not be able to hang it properly. Flat TV sound usually is tiny. I was surprised by how loud the C8 is. It even has some base sounds. But fir suttound sound, a soundbar or a surroundsound system is a must.
