Sounds much better than typical for this type of thin TV. Sound bar probably not much better, if at all. The real improvement comes when add a receiver and speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have my LG 65 C9 OLED hooked up to Definitive Technology speakers. I unhooked them and ran the tv speakers and they are fine depending on the size of your room. I would definitely recommend trying the tv speakers first. If you are unhappy with them, then look into a sound bar or home theater setup. I have a Sony xbr 49 in my bedroom and I really need a soundbar for it as the sound is not good. The LG C9 65 OLED is much better. The tv is amazing and you will be satisfied. I replaced a top of the line Panasonic plasma from 2008 and I couldn't find a tv that met my specifications until the LG C9 65 OLED. If you buy this LG C9, you immediately need to disable the motion setting on it because everytime someone moves their hand, it was giving me a headache. You can't beat a plasma for motion. I would have kept my plasma if it didn't generate 750 watts of heat. Good luck and buy this tv. You will not be disappointed and there is no other tv on the market for this price point that touches it. One satisfied LG C9 65 OLED owner.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound is fine, I tested it this morning for another review. If you don't like it, then get a soundbar or home theater setup. Again, the sound is totally fine and I was sitting from 14 feet away. I had the volume set to 26 and there was no issues. I would definitely recommend buying this television. There is nothing on the market that comes close at this price point for picture quality and sound. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had the TV since 2019 and since its no longer sold, my comment is unnecessary. However, while it has a great picture, LG is the WORST operating system and the most useless sound system that attempts to ONLY allow sound to come from one of the available options. The most asinine thing in my 40 years in IT. I would NEVER have bought this TV had I known how ridiculous their screwed up use of "smart TV" which relies on the customer being an idiot, and their Asian mentality was to use AI for everything, but ONLY one at a time. I've had every brand, and if I was the CTO of LG, I'd fire the audio developers. I could write a book and frankly can't wait for it to fail so I can get rid of it. The picture is useless without the use of multiple audio outputs that are all LIVE!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitely needs a sound bar or home theater system. I purchased the TV and currently looking to upgrade the sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it needs a soundbar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the OLED65C9 does not need a sound bar, but it sure adds to a great viewing experience. I bought the 2019 LG SL5Y sound bar. It isn’t a top-end sound bar, but it adds some much needed punch to the sound.
