Yes. I have a Toyota Highlander and I transported my tv flat instead of it standing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not recommended, but I laid mine flat (screen side down) for the 20 mile trip home with not problems. Just make sure you have adequate support under the length of the box if you do. YMMV, and try at your own risk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not recommended. Other people will tell you that they've gotten away with it. But, why risk it when Best Buy will deliver it for free? That's what I did.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I picked up my 43" crystal uhd 4k from best buy last week curbside pickup. The best buy employee loaded the TV/box into the back of my SUV screen side down. He easily could have stood the TV up but he readily carried it to my car and loaded it laying screen side down. Again though, this was only a 43" TV. I'm pretty sure if it's 55" or larger, you're suppose to keep it upright.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So long as the television is not a Plasma, they're safe to travel lying down. The whole 'can't lay the TV down while shipping' thing came about because of PLASMA televisions, which don't exist anymore. Plasma's had gas encased within a large GLASS enclosure (I.e. the panel). Glass is so heavy that it can break itself when laying down - this is why in comedies you always see the guy running at guys carrying glass -- those guys carry the glass upright.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had mine sideway in my SUV. It was only a 5 minute drive and was fine. Make sure you have the screen side face up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would not lay it down, but technically you can. Best Buy employees told me not to and if you do, it’s going to be hard to return it if it’s broke out of the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would need an SUV and it is very heavy. I would pay to have it delivered and installed. It is not like a normal flat screen tv. Also it should not be laid down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but must be face down
