So I have the LG CX. But it will work perfectly fine depending on what you want. First, you will have to connect the sound bar to the arc tv input. If you want to watch regular tv like directv it will work the same despite you connect the directv to the tv. But for enjoying Dolby Atmos you will have to connect the streaming device (Like an Apple TV) directly to the sound bar and you will not have to worry about the EARC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the LG B7 and get dolby atmos from TV when streaming on Disney Plus as the tv is capable of that already and then I have HDMI connected to Panasonic UB820 and get atmos and dtsx through it. Only issue I have is bar cuts out sometimes but that is LG issue that I hope they fix with a Firmware update.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using the soundbar successfully with a 10 year old Sharp LC-46SE94U television that has only HDMI 1.0 w/ HDCP inputs, no eARC. The Dolby and suround sound features work well. The trick is to route the HDMI source signal into the sound bar input HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 channel and then send the sound bar HDMI output signal to the TV's HDMI input. We have a cable box going to the sound bar's HDMI 1 input and a blue ray player going to the sound bar's HDMI 2 input. Switching between sources is as easy as changing the input channel on the sound bar with the soundbar remote. The sound bar must be power up to get a signal to the TV - there is no latent pass through. On occasion, the picture starts up with a green tinge but cycling the sound bar clears it up. The picture tint may be the cables so not ready to blame the sound bar. The TV does have a PCM optical audio output which I tried to use to drive the soundbar with the HDMI source signal going straight to the TV's HDMI input and only the optical sound signal from the TV going to the sound bar. I was unable to get the TV audio output to communicate with the sound bar's optical audio input and ended up using the setup described above.
