Guys as some of you—the ones who have EMF meters—have noted, it matters not if you are connected; if you have downloaded the app and then disconnected the appliance as LG suggests—THE APPLIANCE CONSTANTLY EMITS EMF any time it’s on. We reached out on FB and via the app (which is ridiculous-it wants your precise location every 5 seconds and has a horrible UX-UI) and we are not getting answers. Even went on Yelp and tried to get a service person to come and disconnect it. No authorized service person would come by and help. It appears the there are two options: Turn it on and run or take the appliance apart and try to figure out where the module is. Going to try that next and will report back.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Three years on, and it doesn't seem like LG has even thought to make it possible to disconnect a smart appliance from wifi. It is entirely possible to use the appliance without connecting it to the Thinq ntework. However, do not make the mistake of connecting an appliance just to see what it does because you won't be able to disconnect it.

I share the frustration of all the other users... and I may probably tackle the problem by attempting to disassemble it, find the logic board and short or remove the antennas. I would NEVER buy an LG product again.

I just purchased a stove with wifi and did not "activate" it and my EMF detector shows a strong 2400 MHz signal constantly emitting from it. The only option is to unplug/power off, the stove.

This new washer is the only LG product I own, and I see no usefulness, for me at least, in the app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just disconnected power to the wifi module from the main control board. You have to take the stove top off and then remove the front panel to access the control board. Your looking for a 4-pin connector (the small one) on the far left hand side. Grab it with a small pair of pliers and disconnect it. All you need is Phillips head screw driver and the pliers. I recently removed the wifi module from my LG washer as well. I really should have made a youtube video. I can't stand that LG doesn't provide the option to disable wifi on their appliances.

This video shows how to do it on a washer & dryer. You just need the wiring schematic for the appliance you have (we got it by scanning the QR code)! https://youtu.be/0mKT3H1MFRM?si=VRC_UKvP898iV0PX
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I found a work around for the LG slide in range. I made mistake of activating WiFi and connecting to ThinkIQ app to see what features if offered. After deleting the device from inside the app, the WiFi showed off on the range but was broadcasting an SSID of [LG_Oven]bbxx. I tried multiple methods to get it to disable including unplugging the oven, but to no avail. To get it to stop broadcasting the SSID, I connected it to the app again, since when connected to your WiFi it stops broadcasting the SSID… then if you have Xfinity internet (other internet providers may offer similar features) go into the xfinity app or log into your router and view WiFi section and locate the connected oven and then “pause” it so it is blocked and no longer “active” on the network. When it’s paused, go back into the ThinIQ app and it will show eventually show disconnected. Now delete it from the ThinIQ app. It will eventually time out and show disconnected in the Xfinity app and also no longer be triggered to start broadcasting the SSID.

However this appears to be only when the machines are powered on. I get 6 mW/m2 at 10" away using a Cornet Microsystems meter. (It's twice what we get sitting 10' away from a 50" smart TV.) So I did a "delete" of the product from the SmartThinQ app on my mobile phone. But no stopping that RF. So now I load the buggers first, then turn on the machines & scram.
