The first answer given wasn't really an answer at all. The question is good because alminnum is a known toxin. The finish on an aluminized alloy drum dryer is described as durable. One motivation for manufactures is that this is a less costly way to manufacture a dryer drum. I can answer this by stating I have not heard of tiny pieces (dust) of aluminum going into clothes or into the atmosphere.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does flake off with wear. Look at black clothes and see tiny specks of glitter. Thats the aluminum alloy coming off the dryer drum. Mine did this after just 3 years.
