In other words, if your vent tubing becomes filled with lint in sufficient quantity that it creates enough backpressure, the sensor will detect the airflow restriction and give you an alarm. It is a good idea to take your dryer vent piping apart every two years and vacuum out and/or brush the lint from the tubing. Depending on the age of the dryer, the amount of lint and the temperature setting you can have a fire in ducting.
