• It very specifically says to wet both sides of the mop pads with water and squeeze out any excess water before attaching the pads. Attaching and using mop pads while they are dry may affect the cleaning performance.

• Yes you can, not sure if you will damage your floors though. I tried it on my tile and it was fine, but didn't seem to do much in the realm of cleaning w/o water.

• yes don't have to use water. but it doesn't vacuum and mop at the same time so you won't pickup anything, just push it around.

• No, before mopping, you must fill the water tank and attach it to the mop nozzle. ^Daphane
