Yes, it has this feature - but I'm not sure it's that useful. When you download the app and use the feature, you have to put your cell phone microphone up to the door hinge and it makes sounds like an old fax machine. It reads those sounds and, in my case, found no problem (but there IS a problem - it stopped cooling). So the answer is yes, it has this feature, but I'm not sure if it does much good. I would not buy this refrigerator - mine failed at 2 years and one month old...
