Videos under the USB can only support MAX 720 W/576 H resolution videos in .AVI Extension with Video Codec set to Xvid, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (recommended) Google the manual and it will show you the codec requirements. I spent a few hours to discover this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The LG DVD Player with USB Direct Recording, Model # DP132 will support an external USB Hard Drive that has been formatted with Windows FAT16 or FAT32 format. It will not support a USB HDD that requires additional program installation when connected to a computer. The playable Codec formats are: Xvid, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 and the available file extensions are ".avi", ".mpg", ".mpeg", ".mp3", ".wma", ".jpeg" and ".jpg". ^CP
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just figured out how to do this, thanks to the helpful comments on this page. I have googled the dvd manual and have book marked it for future reference. Suggestions: 1) You will need to install AOMEI Partition Assistant to reformat the usb drive to FAT 32 or FAT 16. This program is free. 2)You will also need to install converters such as Avidemux (a free program) and/orAVS video converter (free, but has a watermark in the middle of the screen after you are done converting the video). These are easy to figure out and were very helpful. I had no problems with transcoding the video and putting it on my USB memory stick (My USB memory stick is a Sandisk 3.0 Ultra flash drive). Just follow the directions in the dvd manual and in the programs that I mentioned above., along with the comments here and you will be just fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had same problem, and i have converted movie file to VOB format by using uniconverter(https://videoconverter.wondershare.net/lp/uniconverter-best-video-converter.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwq832BRA5EiwACvCWsUPCfprE0cDbRZY6c8cafu42Jthop844iw09FLWNShr3h5xOZjbLDRoCH6YQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) .Its works......
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Using the DP-132H I've found the player will only accept XviD video codec with PCM audio in an AVI container format. Transcode your video into these and you should be able to play them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The max resolution for DVD's are 720x576 which is actually a PAL resolution, but since the player supports all regions this size is supported through USB . DVD's are not the same resolution as Blue ray players which support the now popular 720, 1080, etc. video sizes. When DVD players came out most of use were still using the glass tube TV sets that had a limited resolution. Understanding this you can see that most movies you want to play from the USB have to be downgraded to a supported DVD resolution. 720x480 NTSC or 720x576 PAL, with MPEG2 or AC3 audio. You can save it as a .VOB, .DIVX, or .MPG file and it should play fine from the USB. Also remember that the resulting quality of the video will be determined by your source video. If you convert a video that has already been compressed into another format like MP4 then you can't expect the converted file to have a great picture. Try to convert from a 1280x720, or 1920×1080 uncompressed video source for best results. When possible convert directly from the original.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As for this issue, maybe you need to change the video format and then try it again to see whether it can work. If you want to do that, I'd like to recommend the DRmare M4V Converter to you. It can not only convert the video formats of iTunes videos but also the plain video files. And you can edit your videos as you want and keep them on your computer for using on other devices.
