I purchased an LG microwave with the "smart inverter 10 year magnetron warranty". My magnetron went bad, 2 years after purchase. LG agent sent a service man but now they're telling me because it was past the 1 year warranty the LG agent made a mistake. The service fee to LG was $168. If the LG customer had to pay for that service call to prove it was a magnetron issue who would? The service man said it was a faulty magnetron and even with a complete copy of my warranty, proof of purchase, etc. it is 3 weeks later and still no support. According to my warranty they have to repair or replace, parts are not available. I will never buy an LG product again. There are too many companies that are great at providing good customer support, LG is not one, imho

Please try again later.LG will only send a replacement magnetron to an authorized servicer that you pay for (which is not mentioned in the product warranty, it's an internal company policy, which they also won't share proof of the existence of), making the ten year warranty completely pointless. They won't send the part to you to do the simple replacement yourself. Super disappointing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Warranty is 1 year. "Smart Inverter Magnetron 10 Year Warranty" is engraved at the bottom of the door. The local appliance repair shop said the warranties only cover parts and NOT labor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.At back of Owner's Manual, there is a section re: Limited Warranty. WARRANTY PERIOD is only 1 year from date of purchase. What Consumer Reports says is true - the Megnetron is indeed 10 yrs. from date of purchase. Only parts are covered, however,. Owner must cover labor costs. I'd suggest if you want a copy of the WARRANTY, go to LG's website - http://www.lg.com - that's also where you register your product online. OR - you can call: 1-800-243-0000
