A:Answer This is one of those questions that's a little bit tricky. Of course it "can" be used outside... on a nice dry, dark evening under a canopy...but if you use it outside and a thunderstorm drenches the projector, I'm sure it would be ruined. So if you're asking if the projector can be permanently mounted where it might get wet...then absolutely not. If you're asking if it can be used on a camping trip with no rain in the forecast away from your tipsy uncle who might spill his drink on it, then yes. I suppose you could set it up somewhere safely around a swimming pool, especially if you have a rear projection screen since the projector can be set up for use with that...so you can set up the projector far from the splashes. Even if I had a permanent outdoor open shelter...you know, the kind with just a roof and no walls or just one wall, I wouldn't permanently mount the projector there. I wouldn't put it anywhere where it would possibly be subjected to lots of moisture, dust, heat or insects. I'd take the projector out, use it, clean it with canned air and then put it back in a box or case. One other thing...the projector is not very bright or loud. It's plenty bright enough to show it up against an RV from a distance of 8 ft or so with not a lot of ambient light around. But if you're trying to show a 100 inch movie across a well lit swimming pool, good luck. Also, you'll definitely have to connect to another sound system or bluetooth speaker. I have a sound bar that works great but the speakers on the projector are pretty weak. They won't be able to compete with loud crickets.
