Mine is just a few days old and it is frustrating that they will fall and all the dishes will knock into each other. So unless it was just changed or they changed it and it still happens then the answer is no they don't stay up well and it is a poor design.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Folks I have a 5 year old LG and the tines falling down after about a year of use was really frustrating. Here is the easy fix. Get 24 smaller (4-6 inch tie wraps). Remove the lower rack so you can work on it at table height. Remove the box for silverware. Now look at the end of each of the rows of tines and see how they click into a retainer at each end. When you click it into place the small "L" portion of the rod snaps into the plastic piece. This is what wears and allows the rod to turn and let the tines fall down. Easy fix. Insert a tie wrap into the plastic piece and make sure it goes around the L section of the rod. Thread it back through the plastic piece and zip it closed tightly. I used small pliers to be sure it was solid tight and the tines would not move from the upright position. I added an extra one on top of the one I did for each just for added strength. Zip them closed and cut off the extra and BAM!! No more tines falling over again. Hope this helps all!! Tom
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The LG Dishwasher tines fall over constantly and all plates fall on top of each other. I've spoken with LG rep and they even sent me a replacement bottom rack and the exact same thing happens. I'm going to replace my dishwasher even tho it is 3 years olf.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is about a year old and the bottom rack is awful. The tines will not stay up. Very frustrating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought one of these in June 2023 and the rack design is still a complete piece of crap. If I was LG, I would be embarrassed to sell this product. It is that bad. The entire layout is not designed to hold dishes in any configuration that is even reasonably efficient. I can’t get 1/2 as many dishes in as my old whirlpool. Very disappointed. I’m gonna follow the suggestion to zip tie the times together because honestly if I don’t do that I’m gonna end up ripping the freaking thing out of the cabinet and throwing it out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had this dishwasher for 5 years. Since day 1 the tines continuously fell no matter how I stacked the dishes. LG sent me a new lower rack. It was absolutely not different. We are actually replacing the dishwasher due to this problem. Just can't stand it any longer. Plates fall into each other and bowls are even more hopeless.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No - I'm having that same problem with my new one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have had the same problem from week 2 or 3 on and the machine in now about 9 months old. The tines on the bottom back row are constantly unclipping which is annoying. If LG could fix that problem, this machine would get full marks as it clean better and is quieter then the Bosch unit we replaced. Very versatile in configuration too. But unclipping of tines is a PITA.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The lower tine clips are garbage. I'm going the zip tie route.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The answer is NOPE. I bought my LG diswasher in December 2022, and the collapsing tines are a nightmare. Can't believe LG still markets this ridiculously flawed design. I'm going to try the zip ties hack suggested by another angry customer in this thread.
