• It's water proof. I own it, and can assure you, it says waterproof on the box.

• It is waterproof. I've used mine in the water multiple times and have never had a problem (test it first obviously).

• Not sure why because when you get into the case instructions it completely outlines how to check to make sure it is water tight.

• it sounds like you should contact life proof. a friend of mine had problems like that and he contacted him and they sent him a new one.

• It's not waterproof, it's water resistant, meaning you can't submerge it for an extended period of time or at great depths. I don't go swimming or diving with my phone, so I've never needed it to be waterproof. It has survived the beach, waterparks, beverage spills, and cleaning under running water.

• I believe is dose say on the package that it is waterproof and is packaged with a iphone sized dummy for testing
