A21 and A19 use the same socket type and thread so they are interchangeable for electrical purposes. The difference is more about the size and shape of the bulb itself. Please read the following link and it should give you a good idea whether the two are interchangeable for your purposes. Good luck http://www.torchstar.us/frontnews/index/view/id/220
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yup, shouldn't be an issue. The A19 bulb is just a smaller form-factor. The base (what you're screwing in) is identical in size.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have used both sizes and see no difference in performance between the two. You should be safe with either depending on the application.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A19 is the standard screw in size for most lamp sockets. If the socket is standard size, then A19 bulbs will fit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A21 and A19 simply refer to size and shape of the buld. A standard, household bulb is an A19 which is 2.375 inches in diameter, while A21 is 2.625 inches so it will depend on the space available in your light. Hope that helps!
