in my opinion the best modem out there is the NETGEAR - CM600 DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem - Black and best router NETGEAR - Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Tri-Band Quad Stream Wireless-AC Router - Black and the best Extender is NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Range Extender - Black
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later."Best" is a relative term...what may be best for one person's environment may not be so in another...but a couple of thoughts: 1. All wireless gateways tend to be somewhat compromised in their router performance, particularly because it is difficult/impossible to have an ideal antenna array in a combo-box unit. Some are decent - none are ideal. 2. For a very good cable modem I'd go with the Arris SB6 183. It's a quality modem at a reasonable price for it's features/performance. 3. If you are considering the Linksys AC 1900 EA6900 router, that may be a very good choice. While it is NOT the "best" wireless router, it performs very well at it's price point. You could go and buy a tri-band router, but that may well be overkill. I would safely say that the combination of the Arris SB6 183 + Linksys AC 1900 would give you substantially better performance than what you are using now. There are a lot of environmental factors that dictate what kind of wireless range you will get at your location. If a combination such as this is still insufficient, then adding a wireless extender may be the only cure. ***Ideally of course, your router should be located in the middle of your home, but for many of us, that is not always practical to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have similar situation. I installed modem/router in my office, then had an installer by pass that router, run Ethernet cable to another router in a different room closer to where my family connects. My computer is hard wired, the second router is the wireless connect. Keep in mind you have to disable/bypass the wireless connection on the first modem/router in order for this to work. It took a few visits to find a tech person to set this up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi. This router can be used to further extend your Wi-Fi range since this router has a superior signal. We also suggest that you use a range extender to make sure that the signal reaches the dead spot.
