QuestionHow far away can i plug the untit in from my router?The nearest plug I have is about 25ft away from my Linksys router will it still boost my wifi also to set up I just plug in no wires I need to connect?

- Answer Hi, there. There's no specific distance and you no longer need any wires to install the unit. You just need to make sure that you place the extender midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi and be sure that you have at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal on the place where you will set up the unit. QuestionCan this range extender be used in series to relay signals from router to one range extender to a second range extender that is nearer to my devices? I still get a week or intermittant signal with using only one unit. My garage is 60 feet from the router?

- Answer Hi, Bob. Yes, it's possible to cascade multiple extenders to the router, however, we recommend using up to three extenders only as the signal deteriorates the more it gets extended.

QuestionSo once I set this up and I click on Wifi on my phone to connect, I no longer choose the SSID name of the router and instead choose the SSID with the name RE6700_EXT ??

- Answer Yes that is correct SheltieMom. This extender will have a new network name. The same as yours was before but w/ "_EXT" at the end. If you use the disk included and connect to the internet you can rename the network to whatever you want. You can also change which network you are connected to based off where you are in the house, using the one that has the strongest signal.

QuestionIs this wifi range extender compatible with Xfinity's model Arris TG1682T? Also, Linksys also has the LINKSYS RE6500 AC1200 DUAL-BAND WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDER, which is not a plug-in extender that is supposed to work. But I would rather have the plug-in.

- Answer If I understand your need, this extended is meant to be used in the same facility (electrical system) as the main modem. It uses the wiring in your house to maintain connectivity speed in your building. It does boost the wifi too, but can not boost it as efficiently as hard wiring into the electrical system then to your computer.

- Answer I don't understand your question. I think you're asking if the antennas can be replaced with a high gain antenna. No, unfortunately, the ones on this are attached.

- Answer It should extend that far, but it depends on router and how many appliances are connected. Mine extended to my outdoor camper.

QuestionDocsis 3.0 with dual. Will I need to change my ssid as I walk through the house? Will it increase my signal strength at the expense of speed (I heard all extenders do that)? I need the speed to make my Ring Pro work.

- Answer I use it with ultra high speed and it did drop but not severely ! You do have to change if your regular signal runs out... just renamed the signal with EXT art the end of it! Using 5 thru MacBook Pro works just fine... hope this helps!

- Answer Can't help you with "free", but Best Buy is very good about trading out products and returns. I suggest you work with one of the sales folks to give you guidance, buy that product and if it doesn't work, return it for a credit or a refund within their standard return period, which I think is 2 weeks.
