QuestionDoes it plug into the wall and should it be put in a central location of the uverse router is in a bedroom ?

- Answer It should be placed halfway between your router and your dead Wifi area. In set up it has a spot finder- this helps finding the optimal placement. I run my Wifi off of my family’s next door and it is seamless now. My upstairs had terrible dead zones and now no issues.

- Answer Hi gtl. If your router is located in the upper level of your house, then you can place the Linksys RE9000 in the basement, to extend your router’s signal, for the devices located in that area. Be sure to use the Spot Finder feature to know if range extender is too far or too close from your router.

QuestionI have a Linksys AE9500 ac5400 MIMO Router with 3-RE7000 extenders on a 2-story, U- shaped 4,000 Sq. foot home that still has dead spots. Will the RE9000 allow me to place the extender farther away from the router and give me greater range?

- Answer Hi, Monty. You should be able to place the Linksys RE9000 range extender far away from the router yet you might consider checking the spot finder feature of the extender to help ensure the range extender is in the right spot.

- Answer Hi. It's not necessary, as long as the range extender is not too far or does not have too many physical obstructions that can affect the signal between it and the main router.

- Answer This extender is universal, so it can work with any router that can provide internet by wifi or wired by ethernet. At least most Cox gateways do both, so they should work..

- Answer It can repeat wifi signals from any source, so it should be able to repeat from a mobile hotspot just the same as from a wireless router.

- Answer Hi! The RE9000 extender is designed to cover up to 10,000 square feet depending on your network environment. Physical obstructions and wireless interference, among others, should be taken into account. Lastly, these are the operating and storage temperatures of the device: Operating Temp. 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C) Storage Temp. -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C)

QuestionMy house is hard wired for internet access. Can I plug this unit in to the ethernet and the WIFI signal will get put out from there? Does it merely just boost the WIFI signal?

- Answer The unit has Access Point mode, so as long as you have a wired router somewhere upstream, it should work.

- Answer Hi, Bill. Either way will do as long as the power requirements are met, and the unit is place on a spot where it gets optimal signal from the main router.

- Answer This answer is probably coming too late, but yes, it will. I use mine with a Netgear router. Any 5ghz wifi network should work fine (unless it's really new and set to ax/WiFi 6/6e-only, since the RE9000 only has a/b/g/n/ac.)

- Answer Hi, Birdman. Our range extenders work with most routers available in the market. Also, the Linksys offers Wi-Fi range up to 10,000 square feet. If placed too far from an existing router, a wireless range extender may not expand Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi signal strength may be spotty. Spot Finder helps ensure your Linksys range extender is in the right spot.
