• You don’t, it attaches to the Ipad with the magnetic connector.

• No syncing necessary. It's not bluetooth, and has no batteries. There are three contact dots on the side of the iPad. Those are the 'Smart Connector'. The keyboard has pins that connect there and works like a laptop keyboard
