It's possible to get it to work if you add weight to it (the shock mount and pop filter help). If that's the only weight you add to it, depending on how you mount it and the position you want it in, it might creep up on you as the arm will still want to straighten some even at max friction. I had to loosen the bottom tension screw all the way, and it was still somewhat easy for it to start creeping out of position again. I ended up buying the new Elgato mic arm for the Wave 3 I have and it's much better for this lighter weight mic at my desk. Which somewhat bums me out, because I prefer the Compass arm, but only with a heavier microphone.
