When you remote play, the console or pc exits rest mode/ sleep mode and turns on. When you cloud play, you are streaming the game without involving a console or pc. You will need memberships depending on your choice of console or pc. I own a ps5, xbox series x, OLed Switch, iPad, Mac, and a gaming pc. This device can use all of them as long as you own them. Or, you could skip the console and pcs all together and cloud stream with xbox cloud service and/or Geforce cloud streaming.
