Yes you can choose your own colors and lock them. Or you can turn off the colors entirely. It comes with an application where you can set profiles for different things. Check out attached pics. So you set it to “fixed”, but you need to set all 4 quadrants to fixed. What is nice, is it detects video games. So World of Warcraft has one set-up, while Battlefield is completely different. You have to set that stuff up though.

You can keep the color static (solid) or choose different effects like screen sampling, and even effects that are optimized for certain games such as turning red when you're shot, etcetera. Or you can just turn out the lights altogether. No matter what lighting configuration you choose, these speakers sound incredible! I've had the Razer Leviathan, Bose, and even the Katana but these speakers have the best sound quality of them all.

It's important to note that there are four lights, one on the back of each speaker and on on the "inside" of the speaker. The inside light shines on the ribbed-looking portion of the speaker that allows them to stand up. 1. You can turn them off 2. You can set lights to specific colors 3. You can set a "breathe" effect where they glow, then Dom, then glow. 4. You can color-sync them so the light colors match the content on the screen. In a couple of these modes you can also set the brightness of the light.
