If it is not rechargable, what is the usb cable for? null

Hello HeyYou. The USB cable is an extension cable in case you need to get the USB receiver closer to you (such as to bring the receiver up to the desktop if your tower is on the floor).

It's just a USB extension so you can have the wireless receiver closer to your mouse if your USB ports aren't that close. I don't use it but it probably helps people who only have USB ports in a tower on the floor or opposite side of their desk or something. There's no way to charge the mouse, although the AA battery lasts for ages, like 2 months even though I use the mouse a ton and never turn the lightspeed off.

I don't know why the description says USB extension cable, it's inaccurate. What it means is this little USB plug that serves as the Bluetooth receiver. If you look at the exploded image (the last image for the item), you'll see what it is.
