No. All you have to do is go to Logitech.com look for set up remote control find the model and complete the steps. It is super easy. Good luck

Please try again later.Setup consists of going online and inputting the manufacturer and model number of your devices, then assigning which devices you need for a certain action. I had no problem setting up a combination of new and old devices. I setup a TV mode, a dvd/blu ray mode, and an internet mode to watch Amazon / Netflix. I also set up a music mode. Any issue I had was easily corrected. I highly recommend this device.
