Which Alexa device works best with this? null

I have the Amazon Fire TV Cube paired with an Echo 3 whereby I also utilize the Harmony Elite. Works great.

Literally any of them. I personally have a 3rd gen Alexa Echo Dot connected to my hub. Or I did until I threw the Harmony system away.
