That little jack is for adding the IR blaster to extend it inside a cabinet or outside a cabinet to complete the IR saturation of the equipment in the room, allowing you to actually conceal your equipment or the Hub base unit... It's not a headphone or sound jack. This unit only CONTROLS the AV systems with IR and WIFI abilities. It doesn't extend sound or audio outputs of anything.
