Hi suzyhen, you could use clear nail polish to protect the letters from wearing off but eventually you would need to reapply it. Also, you do have a 3-year limited warranty that can be used to have a replacement sent to you. Hope that helps. -N from Logitech
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mfg guidance: To clean the keys, use regular tap water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down the keys. Use compressed air to remove any loose debris and dust between the keys. If you do not have compressed air available, you could also use cold-air from a hair-dryer. You can also use fragrance-free disinfecting wipes, fragrance-free anti-bacterial wet wipes, makeup removing tissue, or alcohol swabs containing less than 25% concentration of alcohol. Don’t use bleach, acetone/nail polish remover, strong solvents, or abrasives. See above warning!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the nail polish chips, it could actually tear off the letters. If you can guarantee somehow that the nail polish (I'm assuming clear in color) will not chip, it shouldn't be a problem. Another thing you can do is literally put plastic wrap over the top of your keyboard. That would slow down that wearing off process which I'm sure includes natural oils in the skin. It wouldn't stop the eventual wearing off that happens with just repeated use over a long period of time, but it would protect it from the actual addition of skin contact on the face of the keys.
