It's really hard to tell from pictures but the green bar actually has some depth to it. It serves as a dock for your phone and tablets (or anything else you'd like to fit inside it).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think your talking about the slot to hold your tablet...or whatever you have paired to it. When I put my cell in the slot, I have to add backing to hold the phone. Slot opening is to big. But no biggie works perfect.
