You don't need windows. It charges using regular indoor lighting. There's a button on the keyboard you can press to tell you how good the light is to charge the keyboard. I'm using as standard indoor light and haven't had any lighting issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is to clarify the misinformation about the "non-replaceable" battery - a quick search will show not only can you buy the rechargeable coin battery online, but they even sell the battery caddy if that should be lost, I believe that may even be bundled with a pry tool - there's a slot for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. At least couple hours. There is enough light in the room or office to keep it fully charged.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Whether on or off, the keyboard uses ambient light to trickle-charge the small on-board non-replaceable battery. The brighter the light, the better the charge. Upon unpacking my keyboard, it was already at least partially charged. Turned it on and connected via the downloaded 'unifying' software, we were off and running from the git-go. If you are thinking in terms of 'plug it in to charge fully before the first use' like a Bluetooth speaker, this device does not require that time-consuming step. Effectively, this keyboard requires NO time to charge. Just turn on a light and begin working.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't require batteries, as long as you use it close to the solar or day light it will work perfectly. It comes with application which tells you how much time you can work in full dark if it is charged.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can, get a lamp where you work. I've been able to charge it with a lamp easily and quickly. I don't remember the specific time frame but I do remember knowing it was quicker than I expected (within an hour).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will definitely need access to light if the keyboard is to stay charged, so a desk lamp should do the trick. There is also a Solar App that will show you your current power status and whether your reserve power is increasing or decreasing. I could not find mention of how long it takes to charge, but any light while you are working should keep the keyboard running for a while. I hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know how long it takes to fully charge from being completely dead, but I can tell you that I also work in a basement office without windows. I keep my keyboard on 24/7 (even through the night with no light at all) and it always remains completely charged. The keyboard charges perfectly fine just by using your office's artificial light. As long as you work with the lights on most/all of the time, you should never have to take it anywhere else to charge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It really doesn't matter the charge level. It works out of the box with its initial charge and charges continually from any light source. It does have a button you can push to see its charge level and how well the current light source is charging the battery but its not something I usually need to worry about. Mine has never run out of charge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no battery it is solar. It comes with an app that tells you how much it is charging and if it needs more light. You can also you light from a lamp, it doesn't have to be sunlight. I just use it and it charges while on my desk. It also comes mostly charged so you can use it right away.
