I appreciate the answers. I just do not know what they mean...! A:Answer It is an up/down button that selects between the mouse wheel having "snap to" spin or free spinning. I must not need to know what 'snap to' and 'free spinning' would do for me. thanks

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.One way it clicks while you scroll, "stepping" thru your page, while pushing it 1 time, the clicking goes away and you can quickly smooth scroll down the page and you will notice no clicking of scroll wheel. Works good for scrolling long pages.
