PLEASE VERIFY WHICH UNIT YOU HAVE IN YOUR POSSESSION. I purchased a unit today 2 NOV 2020 that said LOGITECH M500s in manufacturers plastic sealed box. After I opened box, the P/N noted on actual mouse is 810-006874 and NOT 910-005783 (M500s). I called Logitech Support, described my problem. I was told the P/N 810-006874 is for the M500. After holding for 35 minutes, support said "we have no reports of incorrect packaging." I was told to return the unit to Best Buy, and exchange it for the proper mouse. I asked how can I get correct unit, if all the units are packaged / labeled wrong. He said I can't do anything until you return the unit to your distributor (Best Buy). I just took unit back to Best Buy and exchanged for the LAST M500s mouse that the store had. This item was also NEW, in original manufacturer packaging. Upon opening the replacement mouse, as expected, the unit is the SAME - M500 with P/N 810-006874 and NOT a M500s. Now, I will contact Logitech Support again tomorrow. The OLD M500 mouse used the old SETPOINT software. I believe that the NEW M500s uses the OPTIONS software. If you have a wrongly packaged unit, as I received, this might be why you are have difficulty getting the Logitech OPTIONS software to work.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought and unpacked the M500s and had the same problem that I didn´t find where to configure the buttons in Logitech Options. The solution: You have to click the buttons in Logitech options AND THEN SLIDE DOWN A LITTLE BIT, ONLY THEN THE SUBMENU IS DISPLAYED. See the screenshot. Only clicking may not activate the submenu. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The M500s uses the Logitech Options Software. It is on the site, you may have just missed it for some reason. When you go to Logitech.com/options, click on Support, then Downloads. Now click on downloads in the top menu (I know this seems screwy) but when you hit downloads on this page you will then click on Logitech Options again, then click to download it.
