Those buttons can be programmed using the software that is available. I use mine for zooming.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The buttons are actually to navigate from page to page instead of using the back and forward buttons on your computer screen. The front button takes you forward and the back button will take you back to the previous screen. Hope that helps!
