I use Autocad and a middle button for pan and zoom is a must. I reprogrammed the left tilt as a push of the middle button and have been very happy with that as an option. The provided middle button is hard to reach and about worthless. I have asked for years for Logitech to put a standard middle button press on it or turn their middle button into a scroll press which makes more sense to me but that’s gone unanswered, as they know better apparently.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The MX Anywhere 2S has more options to chose from regarding its buttons than you can imagine. They can even be re-programmed from its default to accomplish differing actions on different programs. The center button behind the scroll wheel can be re-programmed to Copy, Paste, change applications, etc. Go online to Logitech.com and type in the "Anywhere 2S Mouse" and look for "Logitech Options" software for listings of all the ways the buttons can be re-programmed to do a huge variety of useful actions. When using the Web my Back Button (default) returns me to my previous Web pages but when I'm using Excel or Word I re-programmed it to "paste" what I have previously "Copied" using my selected re-programmed center button behind the scroll wheel to "Copy" so I don't have to use drop-down menus to click on for Copy or Paste.

So far, my research as well as advice from those who already had the mouse has only told me that you can just reassign the button behind the scroll wheel. Sadly pressing scroll only really changes scroll type.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you can customize the button below the wheel to respond to 5 different actions using the gesture button option, one of which can be the middle mouse button
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The scroll button doesn't act like a middle button, but the there is a small button below the scroll that acts like a middle button. If you select-copy text then in another application, click the small button below the mouse button, the text is pasted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Harry, at this time that is the only function available. The middle button is supposed to take over other functions to allow for a more customized scroll function depending on preference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Disclaimer: I consider myself tech-challenged There is a middle button below the scroll wheel. Pressing and moving the mouse ⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️ gives 4 different actions/results. I seem to recall the ability to assign different actions for frequent tasks to the middle button.
