I have the same setup and I don't have any pulsing. The backlight turns off after 4-5 seconds and comes back on when my hands get near the keyboard. Mouse movements have no effect on the backlighting of the the keyboard. The only interaction I know of between the mouse and the keyboard is if you use Logitech Flow to use on more than one system, the keyboard can switch to the other system when the mouse does. Killer feature!

Proximity detection will not work when the keyboard is charging — you have to press on a key of the keyboard to turn the backlight on. Turning the keyboard backlight off while charging will help with the charging time. The backlighting will stay on for five minutes after typing, so if you are in the dark, the keyboard won't turn off while typing. Here's a link to the product support page that will help you set backlight settings: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034762774-Getting-Started-MX-Keys. I also highly suggest downloading Logitech's Options software which will allow you to customize features like backlighting and also change function key buttons. You'll find that download in the link above as well under "downloads".
