“Does this require a unifying receiver to be used? I have a 2018 MacBook Pro that does not have a USB port”

No it does not require a USB connector. I have mine connected via Bluetooth.

Not necessarily, It does have a dongle that requires a USB-A port but it's also bluetooth. I use bluetooth to connect to my MacBook Pro 16". Hope that helps.

It works via Bluetooth as well. In my experience it works better with Bluetooth than with the unifying receiver.

Unifying receiver not required! Works great with just Bluetooth.

Keyboard can be connected via bluetooth and has the three separate buttons to allow you to set up connections on three separate devices.
