No; you can either leave the smart illumination feature on, or turn off the lighting completely. There's no "always on" setting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I see no backlight when the brightness control keys are turned all the way down. I keep it plugged in to my Mac which results in the backlighting always being at whatever brightness I select. When I unplug it, the smart aspect starts working again, still with the ability to turn the backlighting fully off.

There are two keys (shared with F6 and F7) which control the level of backlighting. However, be aware that the keyboard has an ambient light sensor which turns off the backlighting automatically when the room background light level is at a normal level so you may not need to turn off the backlight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I'm aware, you cannot turn off the smart illumination function but you can turn the illumination all the way off. Then it doesn't turn on when your hands are near the keyboard. But as far as keeping the lights on continuously, there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, BUT there is a way around it. It's not a setting you can choose in the logitech software but the keyboard has ambient light sensors that can detect if something like your hand is close to it. What you can do is place a dense object right next to the keyboard (probably on the left side or right side since most people just use the letter keys to type) to block light from entering the sensor. This will trick the keyboard into thinking it's in a dark room and keep the backlights on. Not a very practical way to do it but I've also looked around and couldn't find an answer. This is the best solution I could find for it. Also, plugging in the cable it came with to a wall outlet or maybe even a portable charger will keep the backlights on. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For mine, if I want the back light to stay on I just plug it in while using it. While plugged in, the back light stays on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You cannot override the default functionality on this keyboard. No matter what you do, it will revert back to its default settings after a short period or when you turn the keyboard off and back on. It's horrific. An absolute disaster. It's hard to believe people actually tested this and market it as is. You can turn the backlight off using F3 repeatedly until it dims and finally turns off. You can turn the backlight to it's brightest setting using F4 repeatedly. But it doesn't matter what you (the consumer) sets... it reverts back to its default settings in a short period. The timeout is about 12 seconds. If there is no movement or contact with a key for 12 seconds, the light will go off. Motion is supposed to turn it back on, but it only works 25% of the time. So you're forced to press a key to turn it on. Then you need to delete the key you just pressed. It's terrible. If you work in low light, you'll hate this keyboard.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Use the logitech options software. Click "More" at the bottom of the inital page and then click disable backlighting.
