I have connected to my MBP using the inbuilt Bluetooth. I use mine across 3 devices and I have not taken the unifying receiver out of the box. I don’t notice any lag with Bluetooth either.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The only issue I've had with the bluetooth pairing is that when I also tried to use my AirPod Pro earbuds with my iphone while using my macbook pro with the mouse via bluetooth, it caused some static in the Air Pods while talking to someone. I've tried to resolve but it caused me to use the USB dongle for the MX Master MOuse so I can use my AirPods with my iphone.

If you are looking for one specifically for a Mac, Logitech has released an MX 3 specifically for mac that supposedly has better Bluetooth performance... It is also the same price as this one. I only bring all this up since you mention using a MacBook and it may be relevant to you or others that are looking.
