The 1, 2 and 3 icons on the bottom refer to the saved devices the mouse has been synced with. The battery life is excellent on this mouse, I have to charge maybe once every two months, and I use this mouse every day for work.

For a more precise battery level reading, you can: 1. Use Logitech Options software to see the battery level. 2. Connect your MX Master 3S to your Mac and go to System Preferences > Bluetooth. The battery level will be displayed next to the mouse name. If the battery is low, a 3-minute charge provides enough power for a day's use.
