Most turntables output a very low voltage audio signal, and would require a pre-amplifier (pre-amp) between the record player and speakers to boost the voltage to a usable level. (This is why stereo receivers have specific phonograph inputs). Secondarily, these speakers are very basic and won't really do any justice to your vinyl. I hope this helps!
