This doorbell also only records clips if you use it as a stand alone device. But if you have a Lorex NVR that is in their "Fusion" line, this doorbell can be added as a channel to the NVR and record 24/7. That is how I have mine set up and it is NIFTY

This will start recording when it sees motion or detects a person and will stop when the movement or person is out of the frame, or when the object stops moving. It does not stop recording till about 15 to 20 seconds after the object or person has left. You can see 5 seconds before the movement takes place on the recording on the Lorex Home app. It does not matter how long the person or object is in view of the camera, the camera will record no matter what. you can have a 5 minute clip, depends on what the camera sees. Whenever the camera sees motion, or detects a person, you will see a video under recordings on the app, and the video will be however long the person or moment lasted. No this does not record continuously, but it will record immediately when it sees something. When someone rings the doorbell, you will get a notification on the app, and you can choose to answer or decline. when you hit answer, you use 2 way talk and can see the live view. Even before someone pushes the call button, the Lorex will start recording, moments before they walk towards the door bell, and will record the whole time they are there, and will record them leaving 20 seconds after they are gone. unlimited recording time. You will not miss a thing. I think this is a better option if you don't want to pay for cloud storage with ring, you get longer video recordings with this, rather than a cut out at 30 seconds, and you can see all the events on the Lorex Home app, and this has a on-board sd card, so no cloud service, or monthly fees. If your camera system is compatible with Lorex Home, then you can use all these with the app. I don't know if You system has a DVR that connects to the router so you can see these cameras over the app, or if they are wifi cameras, their wifi cameras can connect to the app as well. but either way, this doorbell camera uses the Lorex Home app to view everything. I don't know if this helped if any, but i personally would not use ring, even though many people use it, they have to pay for the cloud service just to see a 30 second recording on the cloud. its not worth it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this camera does not record 24/7. There is a live view at any time and it records "events". Also, since you own another Lorex camera system, this product uses the Lorex Home app. My other Lorex camera system uses the Lorex Cloud app. Just to make you aware that you may need 2 apps for your cameras.
