Q: QuestionI love using these as headphones so I can talk hands-free on my phone. As far as I can tell though, I've got to have the phone on hand in order to answer it. Is there any way i can answer without actually picking up the phone to do it?

• A:Answer These hearing aids are best suited for someone with mild to moderate hearing loss, and our prescription hearing aids are best for those with severe hearing loss, to receive enough amplification and refinement for frequencies with more severe loss. What I recommend is starting with these hearing aids, and if you need more amplification, you can visit a Lucid Hearing center to have them upgraded for a small fee and prescribed to your loss. Q: QuestionCan we purchase for a single ear? Can the aides work as a single unit or is it essential to wear both aides to function correctly? Can the owner manually configure the low, mid and highs? Is frequency mgmt. done in the app or desktop software?

• A:Answer Hello there! These hearing aids are only available in pairs. One is able to wear a single unit, however to utilize the LucidShape feature in the Lucid Hearing App, both units must be worn. With LucidShape, the owner can manually configure the frequencies for desired listening experience while using the Lucid Hearing App. It does not require desktop software. Thank you!

• A:Answer Hearing test is to identify what frequencies you need to amplify to avoid just making everything louder. Some people only need an assist in some frequencies. The ability to just amplify those frequencies over the ones you may already hear fine makes those tones you can't hear stand out better than simply turning everything loud. There are online tests that can help if you have great earphones or buds but it is best to get a hearing test and ask for a printout to see which frequencies need a boost . After that look for OTC hearing aids that have an app that allow you to personalize your aids.
