Open box means it's a return. Best Buy has different condition levels such as "Excellent, Like New, etc" and tells you the condition of the item. Items in bad condition are usually in store only items that are good and have all their pieces are sold online as well.

It means You don’t know what your getting. More than likely it was a return, someone purchased it and did not like it and returned it. Generally it is probably fine. But you don’t really know. Geek squad certified means nothing. You can return it if it does not meet your satisfaction.
