“When I try to put my filter assembly back on the dryer it just falls back off. It seems like it doesn't have anything to hold it on. Is there something I'm missing ?”

I have had my magic chef dryer for over a year now and have noticed if I dry something bulky like towels, it will cause the lint filter to fall off. Now that it has been over a year of using the dryer I’ve noticed that the filter assembly falls off very easily. With the constant detaching it for cleaning and re-attaching, I am assuming the very tiny grips for attaching to the dryer become worn over time and no longer hold (or snap on) correctly. Buying a new filter assembly is probably the only option which I am planning on doing today.

There should be no gap between the two plastic parts (lint filter and exhaust vent shroud) you snap together It's a simple easy mistake that I made since it came backwards. Everything should literally snap in place.

I look very carefully at the mounting part and line up the center of the filter as best I can then work it by feel till it sorta clicks or thunks into place. Only missed the alignment one time so far. But it fell off while running... just stopped it and replaced the filter with a little more care...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Like someone already said, turn the lint filter around so the part sticking out is pointing towards the back. Mine was backwards. And also the lint filter does not get sandwiched between the two plastic pieces. It goes between the plastic pieces and the back of the dryer. I had both of these wrong so mine was falling off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Press hard with your fingers , try to see if you put it together proper.Put your finger behind it feel if it is stuck all the way on. I think you are not positioning it correctly and pushing hard enough.
