Can you play a Nintendo switch on an airplane? And also what is the difference between the physical and digital game? Which one do I order? HELP null

Yes, you can play this on an airplane but you can't do an online play obviously. The physical game is the version that comes in a physical SD card looking cartridge while digital is the version that you download from the Nintendo eStore, Digital game lives on the switch and is downloaded to the internal memory - I will suggest getting a high capacity micro SD card if you haven't already

i just tried to play a digital copy of a game and it will not play in airplane mode. i've tried the ghost busters remastered (sadly only in digital), streets of rage 4 and the new teenage mutant ninja turtles shredder's revenge game. all 3 games are digital copy and will not work while in airplane mode. i guess it has to connect to the mothership to verify drm?

Yes you can. Physical copies use very little hard drive space.

The physical copy is obviously the hard copy you can actually physically hold onto and physically insert into the system. The digital copy is a version whereas you download via internet connection and a copy of the game is installed from the cloud and you can't actually physically hold onto or insert a game cartridge into your Nintendo switch system.

Yes you can but make sure you don't have a game that needs to constantly be attached to WiFi. Most games don't have to be. 

Physical games are ones where you have a physical copy. Put into the system each time you play
Pro: You can sell the games
Con: You have to change out the cartridge when switching games

Digital games are downloaded to your system thru WiFi
Pro: Can't lose the game as it is saved to your account
Con: Can't sell or let friends borrow

If you are getting the digital you would want to make sure you have an SD card installed on the switch because the memory on the device is not a lot. It can be a pain to switch cartridges but not too bad. I would recommend a case that has space to store the cartridges for the games you purchase to keep them all together. You would be able to use it on an airplane, but you would need to make sure it was set--up before trying to take it on the plane as you do need to set-up some things online but you do not need internet access all the time.

You can play your switch in airplane mode (found in settings) also, there is no difference between digital and physical in terms of game play. I bought mine digitally on sale for 40.00 compared to 60.00 for physical.

I honestly don’t see why you couldn’t play it on a airplane, it even has airplane mode on the console similar to phones so you can cut off any type of signal interference. 

 A physical game is when you literally purchase said game in hand with the physical game card you slide into the switch to play. A digital game is when you purchase said game in the Nintendo store and it just downloads the entire game to your switch’s memory without a physical copy of said game.

Playing on the aero-plane izza nice but you have to follow the rules and not be like the Goombas. Also, no yelling about the bombs in the game-a. It'a confuse the other passengers then you get locked up like the prince and Mario and Luigi no go save you.

Yes, you can. There is actually an airplane mode. Hold down the home button and on the bottom right you can turn airplane mode on or off with the touch of a finger! There is no difference other than one gives you a physical hardcopy, allowing you to sell it in the future if needed, or if you're just old school. I’m sure you can play a switch on the airplane, I don’t see why you wouldn’t . As to buying the digital version or physical version the only major difference Is, For the physical version you would have the game card and if you wanted to play a different game you would have to take out the game and enter a new game card. As for the digital game you can switch between the games without having to remove game cards.

yes, you can totally play switch on an airplane. with the digital version only you can own it on your system. you would not be able to let a friend borrow or trade. but it the same thing as far as game play. there are also a lot of digital game that are not available as a "cartridge". to answer your question pick the one that suits your style of game play. if you just enjoy playing and finishing games then the digital. but if you like the collector aspect of being a Nintendo owner then the hard copy or cartridge version. I’m sure you could. But I haven’t traveled on an airplane in awhile so I’m not completely sure just wait. For cruising altitude and shutdown wireless.The digital is a download, it’s. Easier to keep track of and play it also doesn’t get damaged or scratched so the digital is my choice.

As for which version to buy, that is up to your preference. The Switch has limited internal storage space for downloads at only 32gb, unless you buy and add a memory card. So space might be an issue for you, in which case go for the physical. Digital also has the benefit of always being ready to play, no need to swap out game carts.
